Overview

This book prepares children vocabulary and framework, which prepares them for their own oral and written work about an trip/holiday and reporting back on the event. This Zulu second language reader prepares the learner to create their own oral  about a real or imagined holiday they will have or have had.  It is carefully graded so that it can be read by learners at a primary school level.  Vocabulary is provided and exercises for comprehension and for consolidation of vocabulary.  The illustrations will appeal to learners.  Everyday vocabulary is used.

About the Creators

The Author

Beverley Muller is a graduate of the University of KwaZulu Natal (BA. Hon, M.A, B. Soc Science, U.E.D) and the University of Paul Valery in Montpellier, France (Diploma in the teaching of French as a foreign language).

Beverley Muller taught isiZulu as a second language at UKZN from 1979-2011. She has taught the second language stream at first second and third year levels. She also taught an honours module in teaching isiZulu as an additional language.

She has written several books for learners of isiZulu as a second language, Sanibona I, Sanibona II, Sanibona III, Sanibona 4, Ninjani, khuluma, uSpot and uFlafi

The Illustrator

Glen Viljoen, Zimbabwean born multi-disciplined painter/illustrator and designer. Broad range of styles and skills from cartoon to contemporary and realism. Studied Graphic Design at Natal Technikon 1990-1994. Currently living and working in the South of France.
